A Farm and Table Prayer

Lord,

May we never eat a meal without remembering the land from which it came.

Keep us mindful of the fields,
the woods,
the pastures,
the creatures,
and the people whose labor made this table possible.

Save us from the illusion that food comes from stores,
wealth comes without work,
or abundance exists apart from stewardship.

Bless this meal.

And bless the earth that provided it.

May we be good caretakers of both.
